The peak of Velouchi is at 2314m, which is also the highest point in Evrytania. The route is accessible from June -early July until October.
The M12 path is labeled red . It starts from Aghia Paraskevi near Karpenisi, passes through the Tzavela Fountain, the area named Karaoulia, through the Karpenisi Ski Center and ends at the High Peak of Velouchi.
The path starts from the parking lot at Kolokotroni Street and south, without any difficulty and passing through low vegetation we reach the Tzavela Fountain. Walking through the fir forest, we reach the Karaoulia area at 1740m. Continuing we reach the path that leads us to Chalet and from there to the Hercules lift. Here are some difficult points. The last steps of the route without a particular slope lead us to the top.
Situated at the highest point of Evritania we have an excelent view, as long as we are lucky and the sky is clear. We can see the valley of the river and the next highest peak of Kaliakouda at 2111m and that of Hellidona at 1975m.
